POSTPONED Design and Construction Contracts under NZS 3916

A workshop for those experienced in construction contracts who need to know just what's different about design and construction contracts, and how their roles will be affected by these differences. Make sure you are better prepared for your design and construct contracts, whether as an engineer, a Principal or as a contractor by attending this interesting workshop.

Make sure you are better prepared for your design and construct contracts, whether as an engineer, a Principal or as a contractor by attending this interesting workshop.

At first sight, the NZS 3916 document looks somewhat similar to NZS 3910, and is for more than half of its content.
But it differs where it needs to, so as to reflect the much wider role of a contractor in design and construct contracts, and the consequent changes to the role of the Engineer, risk allocation, business processes, variations and their valuation, risks and insurances, etc.

We explain all this in detail during this single day training workshop and provide attendees with a comprehensive guide for your personal reference together, with some case studies on what works well and what doesn’t.

It is a single day event to reflect that attendees should preferably already have attended NZS 3910 construction contracts training workshop on a previous occasion.

Attendees should bring along a copy of the NZS 3916: 2013 standard booklet, which is available in hard copy or electronic format from www.standards.org.nz
A limited number of 3916 copies may  be available for temporary loan during the workshop.

NZS 3916 is copyright Standards NZ, 2013 but limited reproduction in workshop materials is licenced to the workshop presenter, Andrew Brickell of Enmore Consultancy Ltd.

Workshop Facilitator
Andrew Brickell is a very experienced construction contracts practitioner and presenter, who also covers other topics in IPWEA’s training programme (expanded upon in the course brochure.) Andrew was the IPENZ and ACENZ representative on the Standards NZ 3910 revision committee, so he is well placed to explain the reasons for the important changes introduced by the 2013 revisions.
