CANC Fixed Term Services Contracts under NZS 3917

A training workshop for those with some experience in construction contracts, wanting to know what's different about fixed term services (such as operations and maintenance contracts).

At first sight, the NZS 3917 document looks somewhat similar to NZS 3910, and is for more than half of its content. But it differs where it needs to,  so as to reflect the different role of a contractor in providing operations and maintenance services on existing assets, to ensure good service delivery to owners and customers, and to explain the consequent changes to the role of the Engineer, which affect risk allocation, insurance, renewals, business processes, time issues and expiry and renewal, variations and their valuation, etc.

Make sure you are better prepared for your fixed term operations and maintenance contracts, whether you work as an engineer or a contractor, by attending this interesting workshop.

It is a single day event, which is to reflect that attendees should preferably already have attended NZS 3910 construction contracts training workshop on a previous occasion.

Attendees should bring along a copy of the NZS 3917: 2013 standard booklet, available in hard copy or electronic format from www.standards.org.nz in hard copy or electronic format. A limited number of copies may be available for temporary loan during the workshop.

NZS 3917 is copyright Standards NZ, 2013 but limited reproduction in workshop materials is licenced to the workshop presenter, Andrew Brickell of Enmore Consultancy Ltd.

Workshop Facilitator
Andrew Brickell is a very experienced construction contracts practitioner and presenter, who also covers other topics in IPWEA’s training programme (expanded upon in the course brochure.) Andrew was the IPENZ and ACENZ representative on the Standards NZ 3910 revision committee, so he is well placed to explain the reasons for the important changes introduced by the 2013 revisions.
